Yeri Anarika

Yeri Anarika is graduated in contemporary  and classical dance at the Academia de la Danza Mexicana in Mexico City, following her studies at the Centre National de la Danse Contemporaine d'Angers in France.​

Between 2003-2012 she was member of the renowned company DorkyPark/Constanza Macras. Participating in 8 creations, touring in many places in the world, working as well as a choreographer assistant at the company.

Her experience as a dancer includes being a member of the Spanish company Lanònima Imperial, the Ballet Linz in Austria performing pieces from R.Poole, J. Godani and Rui Horta and the Company Tannia Perez-Salas in Mexico City.

Since 2012 she has been given International Dance Workshops in many cities from México and Germany, as well in Isrrael, Greece, Spain, and Singapur.

Yeri Anarika’s creative practice involves since 2007 interdisciplinary dance theatre and video projects with children, youth and community groups, encouraging them to discover their creative potential, develop self-confidence and artistic skills.​

Yeri Anarika thus contributes to cultural education, which is essential for society. She founded in 2010  "UMTanz e.V.", an initiative that seeks to awaken the enthusiasm and creativity of children and young people through dance and performing arts. In addition, she is since 2012 invited yearly as artistic director at the European Centre for the Arts in Dresden, Hellerau, as well has been working by the Sasha Waltz children's dance company, Via 2018 in Holland and Belgium and at the Kinder Opera Lichtenberg.

She has been commissioned to create choreography with opera and theater directors like: J. Flimm (Staats Oper Berlin), Sven Holm (Novoflot), Christoph Hagel, Tomas Ostermeier (Schaubühne Berlin) and Ursel Weiler (Music Ensemble Quillo).

Yeri Anarika Vargas Sanchez was born in Mexico City in1977. She is based in Berlin since 2003. Her husband, Max Renne is an orquestra director and she has two amazing Kids.
