Guofeng Hong is an independent artist and the Artistic Director of Sigma Contemporary Dance. Since Sigma's founding, he has played a key role in shaping its artistic direction and establishing its presence in Singapore’s dance community. With a thoughtful and exploratory approach to choreography, Guofeng has created works that go beyond traditional performance spaces, including site-specific performances in "Dock 65" at Esplanade Park and the online production "Survei:ance," which was conceptualised and performed on Zoom before being streamed via Facebook Live. His choreographic works have been presented at various festivals, including Singapore’s M1 Contact Festival and SMU Arts Festival, as well as international platforms like the Sibu International Dance Festival, Dance Circus, and the Blossom Arts Festival. Publications such as The Straits Times and Arts Equator have described his works as "engaging" and "immersive". In 2019, Guofeng collaborated with long-time creative partner Chua Chiok Woon to produce a duet that premiered in Singapore and was later invited to festivals in Hong Kong, Macau, and Indonesia. More recently, he initiated the “Unsound.Bodies” collective, which focuses on multidisciplinary collaboration and experimentation. Guofeng remains committed to exploring the possibilities of contemporary dance, continuously learning and collaborating to create works that resonate with diverse audiences.

Chiok is a founding member and a performing dance artist with Sigma Contemporary Dance. Independently, her co-creation "Honey Bee And The Dandelion," and participation in various dance projects have taken her to festivals locally, including 12.ance Festival, Esplanade’s Hua Yi Festival and M1 Contact Festival, and across Asia in Indonesia, Macau, Hong Kong and Taiwan. Aside from performing and her creative work, Chiok Woon actively shares her practice and findings in ballet and contemporary dance with individuals of all ages at Sigma Collective Space and Z.en Ballet, which she co-runs.

Yong Wei (Yeong) began his dance training in ballet, followed by contemporary dance, in Singapore, which led him to further his studies of movement in Arizona State University (ASU). Since graduating from ASU in 2010 with an Outstanding Graduate Student Creative Work Award and a Distinguished Teacher Award, he has continued his practice and sharing of dance/movement in diverse environments. Yeong has also facilitated dance/movement workshops at King’s Academy, Jordan (2009), Arizona Dance Education Organization, Phoenix, Arizona (2010), America College Dance Festival, Tempe, Arizona (2010), International Dance Festival in Ilan, Taiwan (2011), Contact Festival, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (2012, 2013), Mission Improvable Festival, Buffalo, New York (2012), Beijing Dance Academy (2015), Toronto (2016), and Shouze Arts Center, Beijing (2018 - 2024). In Singapore, Yong Wei (Yeong) also conducts dance/ movement workshops at O’Joy Care Center (part of the Health Oriented Ageing programme), Memories Café (Project by Alzheimer’s Disease Association), Greentree Montessori (a Creative Movement Class) and Nanyang Academy Of Fine Arts (Teaching Improvisation and Contact Improvisation). He occasionally organizes and facilitates intensive workshops to deepen his research and study of dance/movement.

Christina Chan

Born in Singapore, Christina studied at The Boston Conservatory was awarded the prestigious Arthur B. Whitney Medal for highest scholastic achievement after previously training at The New Zealand School of Dance. Her work in dance has taken her around the world, to Asia, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, the UK, USA and Africa; working with artists including, Stephanie Lake, Sita Ostheimer, Byron Perry, Liu Yen Cheng, Matej Kejzar, Stephanie Batten Bland, Noa Zuk, Shahar Binyamini, Wallie Wolfgruber, Gabrielle Nankivell, Victor Fung, Lewis Major, Russell Maliphant, Aymeric Bichon and more. At home, Christina has been working with Singapore Ballet, previously Singapore Dance Theatre, since 2011, creating 7 repertory works for the company for company seasons and festivals Dans Fest and Singapore International Festival for the Arts. She was previously a full-time artist and the rehearsal director at Frontier Danceland where she created numerous repertory works. She has also created work for NAFA, Lasalle and Sigma Contemporary Dance, where she is currently resident choreographer. Featured as “upcoming dance artist of the year to watch” in 2012 by local newspaper Lianhe Zaobao and in Prestige magazine’s “nation’s brightest 40 under 40, 2013” and was also the Honouree in the 2015 JCI TOYP outstanding young persons award in the category of cultural achievement.

Germaine Cheng

A wordsmith and movement magpie, Germaine received her initial training in classical ballet at Singapore Ballet Academy before pursuing a BA(Hons) degree at the Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance in London. Since graduating in 2012, she has performed with local dance company RAW Moves and her choreography has been showcased at Dance Nucleus’ HATCH and M1 CONTACT Contemporary Dance Festival. Germaine has also created interactive installations for Pop-up Noise: Soul Searching as well as Arts in Your Neighbourhood. She is currently an artist with Sigma Contemporary Dance. Germaine was on the Dance Faculty at School of the Arts, Singapore from 2014 to 2020, and is an adjunct lecturer at Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts. In addition, Germaine is a freelance dance writer, who received commissions to research, write and edit commemorative publications for Singapore Dance Theatre and T.H.E Dance Company.

Sammantha Yue

"My art is living in itself — the starting point of my practice often stems from curiosity and personal experiences. I am interested in the roles the body can play and evolve through different grounds of practices." Sammantha is an artist, performer as well as a certified yoga instructor. She attained a Diploma in Dance (2014) and graduated with a BA First Class Honors in Dance (2016) from LASALLE College of the Arts. From 2016 to 2023, Samm was a full time artist with Frontier Danceland where she worked and collaborated with local and international choreographers including artistic director Low Mei Yoke, Chiew Pei Shan, Zhuo Zihao (Singapore), Gabrielle Nankivell and Luke Smiles (Australia), Tung I-Fen (Taiwan), Victor Ma Choi-Wo (Hong Kong), Shahar Biniamini (Israel), Richard Chappell and Deborah Nightingale (United Kingdom), Annie Vigier and Franck Apertet, Edouard Hue and Thomas Lebrun (France), Sita Ostheimer (Germany), Sascia Pellegrini and Marioenrico D’ Angelo (Italy).

Zu You started dance at the age of 13, gaining exposure to various genres of dance such as Chinese dance, contemporary dance and ballet. To further pursue his passion, he enrolled in LASALLE College of Arts, graduating with a Diploma in Dance in 2010. He performed in the 2011 edition of Sprouts, organised by the National Art Council and Frontier Danceland, and received the Best Dancer award. Zu You went on to complete his Bachelor of Arts in Dance at Taipei University of Arts. Upon graduation in 2017, he was a dance artist with T.H.E Dance Company till 2022, working with international choreographers including Kim Jae Duk, Rudi Cole and Julia Robert Pares (HUMANHOOD), Dimo Kirilov, and Jos Baker.

Ivan Koh

Ivan is a dynamic choreographer, performer, and dance educator with a career rooted in both classical and contemporary. Known for his versatility and artistic precision, Ivan brings a wealth of stage experience and choreographic insight to every project. He began his formal training at the School of the Arts, Singapore (SOTA), before earning a full scholarship to the prestigious New Zealand School of Dance. There, he honed his craft under internationally acclaimed faculty and deepened his understanding of movement across multiple disciplines. After graduating, Ivan performed with the Music and Drama Company, followed by an extensive tenure with Singapore Ballet. At Singapore Ballet, he was entrusted with soloist roles in numerous world premieres and repertory works, performing across classical and contemporary platforms. His stage presence, musicality, and nuanced performance style consistently earned him critical recognition. Today, Ivan continues to shape the dance landscape as a choreographer and educator, working with institutions, commercial clients, and luxury brands to create compelling movement-based experiences. Whether developing new works, directing movement for campaigns, or mentoring the next generation of dancers, Ivan brings a thoughtful, collaborative, and professional approach to every engagement.
