<Fauve Dance 野兽舞>

by Tai Chun Wai (MY)

(Choreographer & Performer; Composer & Djembe Performer)

About the work/

Abandon thinking and ideology

Waking a beast inside me

Keep moving, keep dancing, keep dancing

Dance till nothingness sinks

<ORIGENES>

by Daniel Navarro Lorenzo (ES/SG)

(Choreographer & Performer)

Collaborators/

Dance Artist & Performer, Sammantha Yue (SG)

Music by Adrian Blezien Pérez (ES) & Josabet Sánchez Tapia (ES)

About the work/

ORIGENES is a new chapter of A Fragile Geography*. It is an artistic expression of the yearning to return to a more authentic and grounded existence, where the human spirit, the power of music, and the magnificence of nature converge in perfect harmony. It is inspired by the unique atmosphere of a particular time, characterised by the joyous arrival of autumn. During this season, misty and rainy days blend with the sudden emergence of stunning orange sunsets. The music created by Adrian Blezien Pérez serves as a catalyst for this inspiration. His compositions capture the essence of this desired state, evoking a sense of nostalgia and tranquility. The music will reflect the interconnectedness between humanity and nature, acting as a bridge that connects the soul, mind, and earth.

The misty and rainy days of autumn symbolise a certain introspection and contemplation. They represent an opportunity for individuals to delve into their inner selves, reflecting on their origins, values, and aspirations. The beauty of the orange sunsets that appear unexpectedly signifies moments of revelation and enlightenment. These moments remind individuals of the magic and wonder that can be found in the simplest and most ordinary aspects of life.

*A Fragile Geography is a project of Daniel's that involved different chapters of choreographies that have been developing for the last 5 years, including: "PLACES" , "STATE", "White Mountains", "Out of Space" and "The Space Between Us".

What does nature mean to us? What do we remember of nature in the urban landscapes of streets, museums and parks? What will we remember in the future when all nature is artificial? This new dance piece will follow the music into dreams of the synthetic environment. "A Fragile Geography” tries to connect nature and humanity with social norms, technology and massive urban constructions in a fictional story about the future of our planet.

<CREPÚSCULO TÁNTALO>

by Ann Francis Ang (PH/US)

(Choreographer & Performer)

Collaborators/

Electronic Music Artist & Performer, Andre Seward (DE)

Visual Artist, David Garcia García (ES/DE)

Supported by Goethe Institut.

About the work/

Translations from Spanish to English:

CREPÚSCULO - Twilight  |  TÁNTALO - Tantalus

Inspired by the liminal space and time in between night (dusk) and day (dawn) on either side known as the crepuscule, the concept of the project touches on curiosity, choice and reflection, as we journey through: What does it mean, and what does it take, to be satisfied?

Choreographer & performing artist, Ann Francis Ang, and music collaborator Andre Seward will be performing a composition of movement and music of this work, live. Visual artist, David Garcia García, has recently been commissioned to create a set-piece for this work.
