OPEN CALL 
FOR SIGMA ASSOCIATES

We are looking for associates to train with us, perform with us and teach with us.

Sigma Associates train with Sigma 1, the main performance company of Sigma Contemporary Dance, and perform in all works by the Artistic Director, Hong Guofeng, Resident Choreographer Christina Chan as well as other guest choreographers of Sigma.

Sigma values individual expression and experiences; we encourage creative and artistic exploration in our creation process. Our technique training works on deepening our understanding of our body and its mechanics through negotiating between release and control. Teaching opportunities are available.

/Requirements/

• Dancers who demonstrate strong contemporary dance technique and are highly comfortable with improvisation

• Dancers who have a curiosity towards discovering new ways of presenting dance

• Committed individuals who work well both independently and are team players as well

• Applicants should have completed your full-time studies by May 2022.

/Administrative Details/

 

• Technique training every Saturday 1:30PM to 4:30PM at Sigma Collective Space

• During performance season, additional rehearsal time slots are added on Saturdays 4:30 to 6:30PM (compulsory for everyone), Friday nights and Sunday nights (small groups)

• There will be membership fees of $80 per month (paid quarterly)
