29.11 – 06.12 (Fri–Sun) / 8:00PM
7.12 (Sun) / 3:00PM & 8:00PM

Soft Archives is a constellation assembled by movement, not meaning. There isn’t a single version—only fragments and impressions. Inspired by Walter Benjamin’s Arcades Project and Singapore’s layered history of colonialism, modernisation, and cultural fusion, the audience becomes a collector, assembling meaning from motion. This work unfolds in six interchangeable modules, where you, the audience, decide the sequence for each of the six performances.

(Booking this performance allows you to attend the Open Jam at 8PM for free!)

Unsound.Bodies goes street this year! Movement & Music Improvisers: Lee Ren Xin (MY) Ahmad Kamil (SG) Tai Chun Wai (MY) Cruise Chen (SG) Unsound.Bodies is an initiative by independent dance artist Hong Guofeng that explores the relationship between movement and music. The performance itself embodies the practice of the Unsound.Bodies score, developed by pioneering artists during its first edition. Departing from conventional performances with pre-defined choreography and music, Unsound.Bodies blurs the lines between performers and audience members, creating a collaborative environment that fosters shared experiences and collective expression, prompting reflection on each participant's role. By embracing spontaneity and real-time collaboration, Unsound.Bodies encourages individuals to explore their own interpretations and emotional responses, inviting them to become co-creators in a living performance. Join the performers in an intimate dialogue between movement and music, where all participants intersect, co-exist, or diverge in the magic of spontaneous and unscripted collaboration. Visit @Unsound.Bodies on Instagram for a visual diary of these improvisers' explorations and past editions of Unsound.Bodies. Booking this performance allows you to attend the Open Jam at 8PM for free! So stay and jam with us after the performance!

Performance: Xue and PD150

Production: Mobi & Octavia Pictures

A castaway figure washes up on a strange island, unable to recall its past. It wanders around the intertidal zone, struggling to recount its violent separation from the city. This movement film explores the perishing human form in contrast with the shifting landscapes and water bodies of the island-state of Singapore’s peripheral islands.

Clock

Co-Directed by Tan Su Yan and Brian Toh

Duration: 2:59

Edited and Shot by: Brian Toh
Performance and Stop-Motion by: Tan Su Yan

There was a time when screendance implied a dancing body. “CLOCK.” is a spin on Constantini Georgescu’s "Spin!" (2009), implementing the theory of Radical Screendance by Anne Heighway. What is “the dance” in screendance now that the body has left center stage, and do audiences have the requisite concepts to identify and appreciate works that have outgrown traditional models?

This film is an intimate portrait of a mother’s love for her young daughter, as she teaches her about women’s strength and independence via the manifestations of the goddess Durga-Kali. Their rituals are a celebration of beauty, strength, life and the impermanence of it all. We see a unique diasporic expression of faith, across different traditions from North, South and East India.
