CONTINUUM
An improvisational relay.
Learn 4 key improvisational ideas from 4 experts and expand your improvisational toolbox in 6 hours.
CONTINUUM is a six-hour improvisational relay through four distinct approaches to improvisation, with 10-minute pauses between each session.
Each session offers a different framework for attending to the body — how we sense, make decisions, respond to our surroundings, relate to others, and compose in real time. Moving from one method to the next, notice how different structures can shift the way you perceive, respond and move.
Improvisation is more than moving without a plan. It can be a way of moving beyond habitual choices and thinking through sensation, attention, intuition and physical response — allowing the body to become an active source of ideas.
Come for one session and encounter a particular approach, or stay for the full relay and experience how four different practices accumulate, intersect and inform one another.
Open to dancers, curious movers, and artists interested in thinking, moving and making with the body.
All Levels:
No prior dance background is needed. Suitable for movers/ dancers of all levels, where participants have the freedom to choose and explore within their personal level. Whether you're a beginner or intermediate dancer, this workshop offers options and/or space that enable you to tailor your workshop experience.

STUDIO THEATRE PERFORMANCES
III三: A Triple Bill
.png)
21.11 – 29.11 / 8:00PM
Sigma Studio Theatre
III三 (read as "Three") brings together three Singaporean artists—Christina Chan, Hong Guofeng, and Lee Mun Wai—whose practices have developed across different geographies and artistic contexts. Mun Wai returns to Singapore after nine years in Germany, where he worked independently across artistic research, choreography, and performance. Christina has worked as a dancer and choreographer across Asia, Europe, Australia, and beyond, and Guofeng’s practice has been closely engaged with Singapore’s and the wider Asian contemporary dance landscape. Bringing three choreographic practices into proximity, the programme considers what might emerge through their individual practices, shared contexts, and points of intersection. Performed by Sigma’s company dancers, the triple bill spans varied movement languages and artistic sensibilities, offering a space for dialogue between artists, audiences, and the performance space.

Exhale [with 12.ance Intensive 2026]

19.12 / 8:00PM
SIGMA STUDIO THEATRE
Exhale transports us through a collection of images and memories that emerge with the passage of time. Through these moments, we reflect on the people with whom we have formed strong bonds and meaningful connections. We come to understand that life is never a straight line, but a journey of twists and turns, of highs and lows, with moments we wish to revisit, relive or even erase. This work invites us to rediscover our individuality. Even in our connections with others, it is our choices, desires and the qualities that make us unique that shape the paths we take. It is what makes us breathe. 12.ance Intensive 2026 extends the artistic research and ideas behind Exhale, exploring how its movement language and creative possibilities can evolve through new bodies and perspectives. Developed over four days in collaboration with Anna Borràs and Daniel Navarro Lorenzo, this new creation brings together participants of the 12.ance Intensive 2026, offering a fresh response to the original work through a shared process of exploration and exchange. Presented together, Exhale (with 12.ance Intensive 2026) brings an internationally toured work into dialogue with a new creation, tracing how an artistic inquiry can continue to evolve through different bodies, experiences and interpretations. Exhale was critically acclaimed as the “Best Fringe Circus and Physical Theatre” performance by The Scotsman. “This powerful, shifting mix of tenderness, vulnerability, closeness, friction and indecision is both dynamic and moving.” — Kelly Apter

TIMEWASTERS

11.12 & 12.12 / 8:00PM
SIGMA STUDIO THEATRE
In a surreal landscape built from paragliders and parkas, two people attempt to fly, scale and meander. They create new versions of their bodies over and over again, extending limbs and crumpling torsos to help them navigate the ever-changing winds. TIMEWASTERS is a spectacle of dance, sculpture and sound. It is made for anyone who's ever felt the insatiable urge to gear up and go upwards, outwards and inwards. This new performance is a cross-artform collaboration between Singaporean dance artist Faye Tan and Welsh visual artist George H Wale, bringing together movement, dance, sculpture and wearable forms. An excerpt of TIMEWASTERS premiered at CULTVR LAB inCardiff in September 2026. This December, 12.ance is pleased to present the full-length work in Singapore at Sigma Studio Theatre.

STUDIO PERFORMANCES
Intersections Exchange

05.12 / 7:00PM – 11:00PM
PORT37
Different dancers. Different practices. Live musicians. And a format designed to keep things moving somewhere unexpected. Intersections Exchange brings dancers across all movement practices onto the same floor — to meet, respond, challenge, collaborate and exchange. Dancers and musicians meet in real time, each response shifting what happens next. The conditions change from round to round. A movement gets picked up, twisted, thrown back. An idea catches on. A risk pays off. Something strange happens and suddenly, it works. Part battle, part experiment, part conversation in movement — the excitement is in watching dancers figure it out as it happens. There will be challenges. Surprises. Winners, eventually. Come for the moves. Stay for the moments no one could have planned. Come see what goes down.
An all-style battle, reconfigured.

Unsound.Bodies

20.12 / 7:00PM – 8:00PM
Sigma Collective Space
Unsound.Bodies is an initiative by our Festival Director, Hong Guofeng, exploring the relationship between movement and music through live improvisation. Bringing dancers and musicians together in a shared performance space, Unsound.Bodies is driven by spontaneous exchanges, unexpected encounters, and moments of connection. Without a fixed script, performers respond to one another in real time, allowing movement and sound to influence, interrupt, and transform each other. As an audience member, you're invited to watch, listen, and discover your own connections between what you see and hear. And perhaps, when the moment feels right, step into the space and join the improvisation yourself. Follow @unsound.bodies (https://instagram.com/unsound.bodies) on Instagram for a visual diary of past editions and the improvisers' explorations. Stay tuned for this year's artist.
