This class will introduce some exercises that combine release with control, efficient use of weight to enable movement as well as getting comfortable with going in and out of the floor. The principles will then be combined into a phrase that takes the body into various planes in space in an unrestrained yet sensitive manner.

This class is inspired by Flying Low, a dance technique created by David Zambrano.

 

The class focuses on the dancer's relationship with the floor. We will move in and out of the floor, gather and send, and constantly spiral from one side to the other side.

 

In this class, you will work on activating your awareness and perception of the whole room and your whole body. By learning simple movement patterns with the help of your voice, you will move in and out of the floor with speed, efficiency and joy.

Working with spirals, swings, fluid and lyrical movements to encourage physical expression and at the same time develop strength, groundedness, and power through exploring elasticity within movements.

 

Technical though accessible to all, this class encourages each individual to connect to the pleasure of motion.

*Important Note for Workshops

Due to the nature of workshops, we will require you to be (i) fully vaccinated; AND (ii) show us a photo of your ART negative result taken in the past 24h before each session. We will be checking your Trace Together app and your ART result prior to your entry to the the studio. Thank you for your understanding.

 

Precaution due to Covid-19

  • Number of participants is limited to 12 for the all classes / workshops

  • You are required to check in via Safe Entry on their mobile device before entering the studio

  • If you have a temperature above 37.5 degrees celsius or are feeling unwell, please stay at home

  • Masks are required to be kept on throughout all classes / workshops

Payment Matters

  • Refunds will not be allowed for any payment made

  • You can withdraw from any class enrolled at least 24 hours before the start of the class, and the credit will be returned to your account. You may use that for other available 12.ance class.

  • To withdraw from any class less than 24 hours before the start of class, please email us at info@sigmadance.co or message us on Instagram.

  • All class credits for 12.ance cannot be carried forward to other regular classes at Sigma Collective Space.

  • You are encouraged to continue to enrol for classes that are full, so that you will be placed on waitlist and will be enrolled as soon as anyone drops out.
